Abbey Wears, LCAS, LCSWA
Abbey is a compassionate professional with 10 years of experience in the mental health and addictions field. She is dually licensed as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. She earned a master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2023. When working with individuals who struggle with addictions, her focus is not just on establishing and maintaining sobriety; she assists individuals in developing a life that she or he truly wants to live. This desire is fueled by her own life experience. She has been in recovery and actively involved in the local recovery community for more than 10 years. Abbey said, “I have not only read the books. I have also walked the path of addiction and recovery. I know where the potholes and land mines are.” In addition to working with individuals who struggle with substance abuse issues, she also enjoys assisting people who battle depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, schizophrenia, adjustment to life changes, trauma (including PTSD), and she has a special place in her heart for veterans and their family members.
