Interns Studying Marriage and Family Therapy

Kadison Beaver, Intern

Kadison, a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student, is interning at OTFC under Dr. R. David Morrow, working toward becoming a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He combines Gestalt Therapy, CBT, and REBT in his approach. Alongside his studies, he serves as Director of Worship and Youth Ministries at Gum Swamp Church. His background in ministry and counseling helps him support individuals with diverse mental health challenges.

Cyndy Brougher, Intern

Cyndy, a Marriage and Family Therapy intern, holds a bachelor’s in psychology with a minor in child development from ASU and Ashford University. With a background in ABA therapy, marketing, and ballroom instruction, she brings empathy and optimism to her practice. Cyndy utilizes Narrative and Solution-Focused Therapy and is pursuing certifications in The Gottman Method and sex therapy. She enjoys yoga, painting, and learning about TCM and Feng Shui.

Tanya Alkhaliq, Life Coach and Intern

As a professional life coach, Tanya seeks to help individuals redesign their lives. She teaches people how to live a lifestyle focused on motivation, authenticity, and abundance. Temporal things like houses, cars, and money are all great. However, making the conscious choice to be motivated by the human spirit to learn, love, and live so that a person can be their most authentic self is the basis for securing an abundant life

She strives to empower clients to embrace self-acceptance, create positive change, and improve their mental health. Heather is dedicated to fostering growth and healing through understanding, compassion, and unconditional support.

Joe Hale, Intern

Joe Hale, a counseling intern from eastern North Carolina, is pursuing a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Colorado Christian University. He holds a Philosophy degree with a Psychology minor from East Carolina University and brings diverse experience from accounting, legal, medical, and golf industries. Joe uses an existential approach, integrating psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapies to help clients build trust, explore life with courage, and achieve lasting change.
