Alex Zegers, LCSW

Mental health has historically carried a negative stigma, but thankfully, it is now more openly discussed and recognized as being just as important as physical health. Finding the right support during the journey of personal growth is crucial, and therapy plays a vital role in that process.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate, I have had the privilege of providing individual, family, and group therapy. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as an Elementary School Teacher, gaining valuable experience with children ranging from Kindergarten to Fifth Grade. I hold dual licensure, allowing me to offer virtual therapy to clients in Indiana and North Carolina.

My therapeutic approach is primarily grounded in cognitive-behavioral techniques, supplemented by elements of solution-focused and strengths-based perspectives. In my practice, I strive to foster an atmosphere characterized by safety, receptiveness, empathy, and support. The therapeutic relationship I build with my clients is based on acceptance, collaboration, and authenticity. Recognizing the partnership nature of therapy, I value the voices of both parties, particularly as teletherapy has become increasingly prevalent. I endeavor to assure clients that they are not alone and that hope for change should always be nurtured. In addition to facilitating healing and growth, I empower clients to advocate for themselves and their well-being.

I see humanity as lifelong learners, and I believe in sharing my knowledge while also embracing the wisdom gained from clients, which propels us toward our goals together. There is immense potential in our collaborative efforts.

If you believe we may be a good fit, please reach out to our office and schedule an appointment. I am eager to have the opportunity to work with you and support you on your journey.
