Andie Barnett, LCMHCA
My name is Andrea, but most people call me Andie. I have been licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) for a little over 2 years, but I am not new to the healthcare field. I worked as an administrative assistant for 6 years in a primary care office prior to becoming therapist. I graduated from East Carolina University with my bachelor’s degree in psychology as well as my Bachelors in Religious Studies. I attended and graduated from Liberty University where I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I concentrated in Christian Studies while at ECU as well as Liberty. I have worked with clients of different ages, races, religions, and genders. I have also worked with clients who have a variety of diagnoses, which includes but is not limited to anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, adjustment disorders, trauma etc.
My therapeutic approach is to use the words that you speak to help make sense of the emotions that you feel and help me better understand you as a person. My role as your therapist is not to be an expert in your life, but to walk the journey with you helping you uncover meaning for your life to create the best reality moving forward. I will focus on your strengths rather than deficiencies and I am both hopeful and optimistic about your ability to create positive change for the future.
If you feel we may be a good fit, please reach out to the office to schedule an appointment, I look forward to working with you!
Andie is able to accept the following insurances: Medicaid, Carolina Complete, Healthy Blue, UHC Community Plan, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Medcost.
