Mental health is a vital component to overall well-being, and if neglected, it can have negative physical implications. Prior to embarking on my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling, I had the pleasure of serving in healthcare administration as a practice manager. Providing compassionate care to our patients and team members over the years taught me the power of presence when navigating difficult situations of a personal and professional nature. Working with a large team, I learned the importance of cultural competence when meeting the needs of diverse populations.

As a future licensed clinical mental health counselor, my goal is to empower others to become the best version of themselves. By encouraging self-acceptance and authenticity, l plan to create a safe space where clients can be vulnerable and forthcoming to make positive life changes. My counseling approach will be based on unconditional positive regard and understanding. My hope is to facilitate healing of those who have been harmed, growth for those that need change, and advocacy for those who need a voice.
