Ron Blanchard, MS, MA, LCAS, LCMHC
Ron has lived in Eastern North Carolina for over 40 years and has been practicing for over 20 years. He received a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Capella University and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. He has extensive experience working with adults, and groups and specializes in treating trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, grief and loss. Ron has worked with clients who have psychological and or substance use disorders during both inpatient and outpatient treatment. He has experience working with the criminal justice system as the Clinical Director for Region One, TASC (32 Counties along the coast of NC). He uses a holistic treatment approach utilizing the integrative methods of EMDR, CBT, REBT, Motivational Interviewing, Gestalt Therapy and Solution Focused counseling, among others. His goal is to help his clients establish a state of emotional balance and overall wellbeing. Ron works work with older teens (17-18), adults of all ages, who are encountering life challenges. He offers empathy and support during challenging times encountered while navigating the turbulence involved in living. He is a sounding board, an encourager and coach, offering empathetic support while challenging development of personal strength.
His goal is to help his client establish a state of homeostasis and overall wellbeing. He uses a holistic approach to help people during the challenges of addiction, trauma, built on the "Client Centered Therapy" created by Carl Rogers, which is formed on the foundation of a strong professional relationship between the counselor and client and "unconditional positive regard.".
